CIG Internship Opportunities

We are currently offering two (unpaid) exciting internship positions for currently enrolled students that have a passion and interest in working in this space!

Positions Location: Remote

Deadline to apply: November 1st, 2021

POSITION: SOCIAL AND HUMAN RIGHTS RESEARCHER

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Conducting contextual research and analysis for countries
  • Identifying social and human rights risks
  • Supporting in the planning, maintenance, and QA of the CIG’s INGA database
  • Providing inputs to improve the CIG INGA platform and the end-user experience
  • Ad-hoc client work

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree (social sciences preferred)
  • Understanding and deep interest for human rights (incl. Business and Human Rights), social impact, sustainability, or other related areas
  • Ability to conduct research and analysis suitable for a business audience
  • Fluent in English
  • Strong oral and written communication skills

POSITION: DATA ANALYST

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Data analysis support in order to further develop CIG’s INGA data analytics functionality
  • Ability to aggregate data from various sources to construct streamlined data
  • An understanding of how to make data visually appealing and simple to both navigate and comprehend for end-users
  • Support with administrative and ad-hoc tasks related to INGA services

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree (preference for degrees in Computer Science, Math, Statistics or related field)
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, and other programs is highly desirable
  • Excellent understanding of computer science fundamentals, data structures, and algorithms
  • Demonstrated experience, familiarity, and ease with handling large data sets and crunching numbers

The internship position is not paid, but we offer an in-kind contribution to participate in the 8-week CIG Social Impact Assessment e-course.
